Song of unknown origin from a blackface MINSTREL show, 1834, produced in N.Y. As its racist title suggests, the text portrays a Broadway dandy decked out in fine clothes and a silk hat. The melody used is the Anglo-Irish Turkey in the Straw, rather than any quasi-African American tune.
