Yip, Yip, Yaphank
Revue by IRVING BERLIN, 1918. Berlin himself took part in the show, which depicted the life of American doughboys (soldiers) in World War I. He made a sensation with his loud lament, Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning.
Berlin originally planned to include a first version of GOD BLESS AMERICA in the show, but it was cut for reasons unknown and not revived until the 1930s.
