Walking Bass

In JAZZ, a bass figure moving up and down in DIATONIC and CHROMATIC steps in broken OCTAVES in even EIGHTH NOTE rhythms. It was first associated with piano BOOGIE-WOOGIE, but became principally associated with jazz double bass playing in the swing era.
