Varsoviana

(It.; Fr. varsovienne). A MAZURKA named for the city of Warsaw that became very popular in the middle of the 19th century in France and Germany. At various times in the 19th and 20th centuries, Polish nationalists used the tune to express their feelings of national pride, particularly as they sought to separate themselves from Russian control.
