Variations on a Theme by Frank Bridge
Work for string orchestra by BENJAMIN BRITTEN, 1937. It was written as an act of homage to his teachet and first performed at the Salzburg Festival.
The theme was taken from Bridge's 3 Idylls for string quartet of 1907. There are 10 variations in all.
