Rotation

A means of modifying the 12-TONE series. As the term implies, the series is shifted a space, so that at its next occurrence it begins with the second note and ends with the first; then, it starts on the third note and ends on the second; etc. Rotation was particularly favored by IGOR STRAVINSKY.
