Ma Mère L'Oye

(Mother Goose). Suite of five children's pieces by MAURICE RAVEL, 1910, for piano four-hands, which he later orchestrated. The subjects are taken from the famous book of fairy tales by Charles Perrault. Ravel composed these pieces for two Parisian girls, one age 10 and the other only six. They gave the work its first performance at a concert in Paris.
