Dramatic oratorio by ARTHUR HONEGGER, 1938, first performed in Basel, in concert form. Honegger described the work as a "MIMODRAMA." Joan has a speaking part, and various allegorical figures appear, symbolizing sins and virtues. The music represents a deliberate return to the early type of monodic DRAMMA PER MUSICA.
