G-Sharp Minor

(Ger. Gis). This key, relative to B major and armored with five sharps in its key signature, is not often encountered as the principal key of a major work. It is best suited to short piano pieces. FRANZ LISZT'S La Campanella for piano is in G-sharp minor.

Not even the Russian composer Nikolai Miaskovsky, who wrote symphonies in almost every key, ever ventured to write a symphony in G-sharp minor.
