F Minor
(Ger. F moll). A key of lyric reverie touched with melancholy.
Composers writing for string instruments or for orchestra instinctively avoid F minor because it is difficult for strings to perform. But F minor is eminently pianistic, and much ROMANTIC music is written in this key. FRÉDÉRIC CHOPIN'S Second Piano Concerto is in F minor (op.21), as is FRANZ SCHUBERTS most famous Moment musical.
