I'd Rather Be Right
Musical by RICHARD RODGERS and LORENZ HART, 1937. The plot focuses on a boy unable to marry his best girl on account of lack of money. He has a dream in which he meets President Franklin D. Roosevelt and confides his troubles to him. Roosevelt replies that he cannot help the lovers until he balances the national budget. Various hilarious situations follow before the dreamer awakens and decides to get married, budget or no budget.
