Added Sixth

A sixth added to the major tonic triad, often at the end of a phrase, and treated as a consonance. First used by CLAUDE DEBUSSY and others early in the 20th century, the added-sixth chord (e.g., C, E, G, A) became extremely popular in JAZZ piano playing.
