Added Seventh

A minor or major seventh added to the major triad. In jazz, the minor seventh (e.g., in the chord C, E, G, B♭) is one of the BLUE NOTES (along with the minor third). Depending on the context, the major seventh can be more or less pleasing when added to a closing tonic major triad.
