It is important that a concert hall—o r any place where music is performed—b e properly designed so that the music can be heard in proper balance, no matter where an audience member is sitting. Everything from the curtains in the room to the floor of the stage, the height of the ceiling, the number of lights and baffles, etc., can contribute to the total balance of sound.
