Muhlenberg College

Robertson is haunted by the ghost of a former member of the Muhlenberg faculty whose house was torn down to build the new dorms.

The Gabriel House, the building that is now used for Muhlenberg’s night school, is haunted by the ghost of an African American man who is believed to have once been a Muhlenberg maintenance man.

A bat affectionately named Bernard lives in the chapel and frequently makes appearances during the Candlelight Carols each December.

There are many stories about what Victor’s Lament actually is supposed to be. Some say that it’s a war veteran rising from a wheelchair, and others say that it looks like a large letter M when seen from an airplane.

The Muhlenberg mascot was almost a turtle because of the species of bog turtle named after naturalist Gotthilf Henry Ernest Muhlenberg.
