   To be honest, there are so many deceptions and disguises that it might be easier to identify when there is not deception (seriously).

   John spreads lies about Hero.
   Claudius denounces Hero for not being who/what she should.
   She pretends to be dead, then someone else.
   The others trick Beatrice and Benedict into falling in love.
   As they do, their word play is often deceptive.
   Benedict changes his appearance (shaves) for love.
   Dogberry deceives throughout the play by accident (ignorance of proper words) for comic effect.
   There is masked party, for entertainment.
