Tom Robinson and Calpurnia are the main characters whom we as readers get to know. Both of these characters are strong, kind, and beautiful people. They are loving and helpful. Harper Lee develops some amazing characters in this novel, and while he does create sympathy for Tom Robinson and other black characters in the book, he does not portray them as helpless and looking for a handout folks. You can not help but admire these characters. Posted by amy-lepore on Jun 5, 2008. |
