Posted by playsthething on Wednesday January 21, 2009 at 9:04 AMHermia resembles Egeus in temperament. Both see the world as black and white - in extremes, with no gray area. For example, Egeus wants Hermia to obey him or he wants to be allowed to kill her - fairly extreme choices, I'd say! Hermia, when confronted with Lysander's pursuit of Helena, jumps to immediate, extreme conclusions about Helena's intentions. Also, both are not very good listeners, cutting others off and not really wanting to hear explanations or come to any sort of understanding.
