Summary
At the Chettams' dinner, Dorothea convinces Farebrother and Chettam that they must help her clear Lydgate's name. Celia implores her to listen to Chettam's advice. Lydgate must act for himself. Once having deposited Bulstrode at his home and reassuring Mrs. Bulstrode, Lydgate decides not to tell Rosamond, thinking the matter will soon become evident. The wives in the town discuss not only Bulstrode and Lydgate, but their spouses and not to the benefit of any of them Mrs....
