Explain how "The Metamorphosis" can be viewed as an extended metaphor that equates the transformation of Grogor into a insect.
How does the transformation relate to a healthy person turning into a person suffering a terminal illness like Kafka. Note how the family is impacted by the illness, how the family changes during and after, especially the changes in Gregor’s sister, and the various psychological changes of the family members, especially Gregor himself. Pay close attention to aspects of denial, acceptance, alienation, and anger.
