The fraction form 12/16 can be reduced by dividing by the greatest common factor. Both 12 and 16 are divisible by 4, so the reduced fraction is 12/4 over 16/4 = 3/4. In other words, there are 3 boys for every 4 girls in the class.

The ratio is written as 12/16. To put in simplest form you must determine what number can be evenly divided into both the top number 12 (numerator) and the bottom number 16 (denominator). That would be 4
12 / 4 = 3
16 / 4 = 4
So the ratio in simplest form would be 3/4

the ratio is 12:16 and u just divide both the numerator & denominator 'till u can't divide them equally anymore to get the simplest form.
Hope that helps!
