How high is the fountain?

a high fountain of water is in the center of a circular pool of water. you walk the circumstances of the pool and measure it to be 150 meters. you then stand at the edge of the pool and use a protractor to gauge the angle of elevation of the top of the fountain. it is 55 degrees.

    You're given the angle of the triangle, 55°. To find the height, you need to know the length of the base, from the edge of the circular pool to the center; that's the radius of the circle.

    The circumference C = 2pi r --> r = C/2pi = 23.87 m

    tan 55 = height / base

    height = 23.87m * tan55 = 34.1 m
