A drawer contains 3 pencils, 4 markers,and 4 pens. Items are drawn randomly one at a time and are not replaced. What is the p(pen then pencil)?

The probability of picking a pen first is 4/11. If that occurs, the probability of then picking a pencil is 3/10 because there are only 10 things left in the drawer. The probability of both those things happening is the product of the two, so 12/110 or about 10.9%.
