Overview

"You're in good hands with Allstate," the slogan of Allstate Insurance Company, was created in 1950 as part of a series of layouts for a proposed magazine ad submitted by the advertising agency Goodkind, Joice & Morgan of Chicago. At the time Allstate sold only automobile insurance and Davis W. Ellis, the company's general sales manager, was looking for a way to convey the idea that Allstate provided help in times of crisis....
