The Story:
Mink Snopes, convicted of Jack Houston’s murder, received a life sentence. Mink killed Houston over a one-dollar pound fee. He learned parole was possible if he behaved and did not attempt escape. Mink accepted that, planning to return in twenty years to murder Flem, who, being close kin and powerful, Mink thought should have helped him.
