Male/Female Roles | Men Are Experiencing a Masculinity Crisis

In the following viewpoint Lionel Tiger argues that men have experienced a decline in the last thirty years. For example, he contends, fewer men are actively fathering their children. In addition, Tiger asserts that the number of female college students recently surpassed the number of male college students, and many people have begun to demonize men—who used to be respected for their roles as breadwinners and fathers—as macho jerks. This denigration of men has left young men unsure of how to behave, he claims. Tiger is the author of The Decline of Males.
