        <description><![CDATA[On August 6, 1945, the first atomic bomb, nicknamed &quot;Little Boy&quot;, was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. Three days later, a second bomb, nicknamed &quot;Fat Man&quot;, was dropped on the city of Nagasaki.  The carnage was horrific - more than 140,000 people were killed in the first bombing, and 70,000 in the second. Both cities were largely destroyed. ]]></description>
