The Story:
When Carol Milford was graduated from Blodgett College in Minnesota, she thought she could conquer the world. Interested in sociology, and village improvement in particular, she often longed to set out on her own crusade to transform dingy prairie towns into thriving, beautiful communities. When she met Will Kennicott, a doctor from Gopher Prairie, and listened to his praise of his hometown, she agreed to marry him. He had convinced her that Gopher Prairie needed her.
