Question:
To Whom Or Who Do You Attribute Responsibility For The Events In Macbeth?
Hey all, i have written a little bit but i am finding it hard to get all the point made.
I am also finding i hard to write enough about each character who is responsible, any help would be very much appreciated.

You can certainly place blame on several characters in the play. Most people ten to jump right to Lday Macbeth, and there is definitely plenty of evidence in the first act alone that demonstrates her influence over Macbeth regarding the murder of Duncan. Of course, there's also Macbeth. He admis that it is his "vaulting ambition" that "spurs him on" and, later in the play, he doesn't even need to confide in Lady Macbeth anymore; he has Banquo and Macduff's family killed without even telling her.
A more interesting direction to go in is deciding how much you think the witches are to blame for the events in the play. Arguably, they set all in motion when they make the initial predictions for Macbeth, and then later they purposely trick him with the three apparitions.
Duncan himself could be argued to be blameworthy for his own death, as he could probably have learned more from his past mistakes of trusting the former Thane of Cawdor before leaping into immediately trusting Macbeth.
Good luck!
