What role does blood play in "Macbeth"? Other than the guilt over Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, what does the blood sybolize?

I know that blood symbolizes the guilt of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth throughout Macbeth, but what else does it mean? What role does it play?
