    He recognizes his guilt and that he has caused the death of Duncan and the two guards. He had to be "pushed" into by Lady Macbeth, but now that "the bell cannot be unrung," he trying to deal with what is left of his conscience. This is in stark contrast to Lady Macbeth who never deals with what she is done. She is always in such a hurry to cover things up and move past them, that she never works through these issues and that is her ultimate undoing.
