Question:
The sergaent suggests that Macbeth and Banquo meant to "memorize other Golgotha" during their battle with the king of Normandy. (1.2.40-41).
What does this mean?

Except they meant to bathe in reeking wounds,
Or memorize another Golgotha, (45)The Sergent is detailing how valiant and relentless Macbeth and his troops are in battle. "Golgotha" was the mount where Jesus was crucified. The sargeant wonders at the blood bath and wasn't sure if there was going to be another cruxifiction scene with Macbeth or his opponents figuratively, "hung on the cross."
