1. In MacBeth and Frankenstein all "dark" and evil things are accomplished at night under the cover of darkness. The settings figure prominently in each of the texts.
2. There are definite times where the darkness resides in the human breast. The MacBeth's and Victor are plagued by the darkness which prompts them to do their reprehensible deeds. The MacBeth's commit regicide, and Frankenstein robs graves to create life.
3. Victor's aims are noble and good, but things turn out bad for him. The MacBeth's aims are purely dark.
4. The secret, black, and midnight hags are creatures of the darkness and the occult. They conjure images and prophecies from the darkness of time and space.
These will get you started. I presume it's for an essay?
Best of luck!
