Question:
How do deceptive appearances in Macbeth cause confusion and allow evil to flourish in the world of Shakespeare's play?
These quotes as main examples:
Witches: ''Fair is foul and foul is fair"
Duncan: "There's no art/To find the minds construction in the face"'
Malcom: ''Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell''

Macbeth misinterprets the prophesies of the witches, and in doing so puts himself in mortal danger. Because he did not understand the underlying truth of their statements, he was susceptible to evil throughout they play.
A man "not of woman born" can still exist and conquer. Satan, the brightest angel, can still fall to hell. Nothing is as one thinks it should be in Macbeth.Sources:
