In Act 4 Scene I the witches are showing Macbeth prophecy.  In the third prophecy Macbeth sees eight kings. He tells the witches that they look too much like Banquo and the crowns (the reflection) burns his eyes.  The important part of this scene is not the quote.   The important part of this scene is  that Macbeth sees that Banquo has see a line of kings behind him.  Macbeth should realize that he should not take the prophecies literally, but Macbeth has a tendency to interpret the visions as he wants them to be.
