Show Act 5 of the Polanski film.
1. Polanski’s version has often been criticized for being too horrifyingly bloody. Ask students if they agree with the critics or if they feel that Polanski was justified in his violent vision for the film. If students think it is too violent, ask how they might have directed the final scene otherwise.
2. As a final wrap-up question, ask students how necessary it is to have read the scenes before viewing them.
