A secret staircase very similar to the one described in Charlotte Bronte's classic novel 'Jane Eyre' has been discovered.

The owners of the house in North Yorkshire, northern England, had already believed that the author was inspired by a visit to the house in 1839. However the staircase had remained hidden behind panels since the 1880s and the current residents only found it after clearing the attic, reports the BBC.
