Bilbo Baggins
A Hobbit who accompanies a group of dwarves on an attempt to kill a dragon and reclaim their home and treasure. All this happens, although not quite the way they expected, and largely through Bilbo's growing self assurance and the help of a ring Bilbo finds, steals, or wins—actually a little of all three—that renders its wearer invisible.
