I'm not sure if you mean "Ralph" or"Jack." Others are attracted to Jack, not only because he brings them meat, but he does not dither or hesitate when he is making decisions. Jack wants total control and tends to order the boys around. This is comforting to some of the confused boys because they would rather be told what to do than have to figure out how to do something on their own. After all, they might be wrong and having taken orders means one is usually absolved from blame. Jack has also had experience being the "head boy" of the choir so he is seen by those in the choir as their natural leader. "Our dance" refers to the ritualistic dance the boys do after they have killed a pig. As the novel progresses, this dance becomes more and more violent, indicating the boys are losing touch with civilization and turning into savages.
