    He moves like an animal, crawling "on all fours" looking for signs that the pigs have been in the area. He looks for "cracked twigs, tendrils of creeper vines polished smooth by the bristles of passing pigs, and hoofprints." He also smells the air and looks at any fresh droppings. He then listens carefully so he can hear any movement or sounds of the animals. At first, he isn't very good, but with time, he improves.
