    Ernie is the Cowgill brother who delivers milk to Grandma.

    That should be the correct answer because I think that his father is referred to as "Mr. Cowgill" throughout. Also, Mr. Cowgill runs the family dairy farm and couldn't be accurately called a "milkman" because he doesn't deliver milk to customers.
