If I were Amy, I would be embarrassed and sad if I were reprimanded by Mr. Davis. However, all people have different personality traits, or characterizations. Amy, in "Little Women" has a strong will. She also has a great desire to be taken seriously by others, especially adults. Amy was probably angry because she was not taken seriously.
