Little Big Man | Related Titles

No other Berger novel deals explicitly with the American West, but elements of parody and satire are major forces in Arthur Rex (1978) and Regiment of Women (1973). Although Little Big Man is more than a parody, it is sometimes compared to Who Is Teddy Villanova? (1977) because of the latter novel's obvious parody of the hardboiled detective story. As a story of growth and coming of age, Little Big Man is clearly comparable to Berger's best novel on that theme, The Feud (1983).
