Little Big Man | Adaptations

An ambitious film version of Little Big Man was released in 1970 to a mixed response from reviewers and the public. Directed by Arthur Penn, and starring Dustin Hoffman, Faye Dunaway, Chief Dan George (as Old Lodge Skins),and Richard Mulligan (in a satirical caricature of Custer), the motion picture received generally favorable notices from critics, with some reservations, and it was also a moderate popular success. The predominant satirical tone of the picture struck a responsive chord with that segment of the audience disillusioned with America's military adventure in Vietnam....
