please I need a definition from the east point of view of literature

I am writing an essay where I state the west and east point of view of literature (modern)

    Hi,

    The difinition of literature does not vary be that in west or east but the way we define it. In the west you may define it in your own way.Where  as, we have our own difinition  in the east.Nevertheless , I believe in the following difinition once my teacher expressed. He saie`` If anything is regarded as good literature , there must be the rivelary between the words and the meanings. Words should try to be clearer than the meanings and the meanings should try to beat the words , being more important. And whatever comes as a result of this is  out and out a remarkable piece of literature.
