what makes you think believe the 2nd story to be ture

    There are two reasons why one might think the second story is true.  The first reason for me is that it is not as exciting as the first story.  It contains none of the fantasy or imagery that the first story does.  

    The second reason is that is makes more logical sense.  It is easier to believe that someone survived 9 months in the Pacific Ocean by eating the other people who survived with him. This is easier to relate to or understand than a story of a boy's survival with a Bengal tiger and a man eating island.  However, the second story while more logical is not as much fun to imagine or read.
