However, it's not that useful to consider a work from this period this way. Quite literally just about all works written in this period would be considered sexist by modern standards. (Probably all; I’m just being safe here by saying "just about all.") Therefore, singling this one out to label as sexist isn't that useful. It would be more useful to ask how the larger tradition of courtly love is sexist, how it served men and women, and how it limited them.
