At least have 1 if not 2 or 3 faculty or teachers present. Couldn't they be told to go to the bathroom, change, and them bring them there PE clothes? People these days...

In case of theft, some action to check on those who had the opportunity to steal is very much justified, and this may cause some inconvenience to the students. However, definitely such search should be conducted in as dignified manner as possible.

From the description accompanying this question, it is not clear to get a complete picture of what exactly happened and if this was to only or even a useful way to conduct the search for lost uniforms. But there are some question marks. What is the use of conducting the search the next day and not the same day? Was it really necessary to strip down to check.? Would it not have been better to subject one student at a time to present his clothes for inspection. If this system was followed it would have peen possible to avoid the indignity of students stripping before teacher. Also if the first student checked was found guilty then it would not have been necessary to check others.

On face of it, this incident does appear to be improer.
