    The question of what is behind the door is left to the reader to answer. This ambiguity created a sensation when the story was first published and continues to vex contemporary readers. The only thing I've ever experienced similar to the literary frustration of "The Lady, or the Tiger?" was the final episode of The Sopranos, which ended in the middle of a scene and resolved nothing.
