    In chapter three, Baba's views of sin could be considered superstitious. However, these are his personal views and not necessarily typical Afghan superstition.

    Also check chapter 11.  On page 120, the actions of Afghans at the San Jose flea market are discussed.  Housseini also gives hints as to how not to act.  On page 135, Baba and Amir discuss why Baba cannot stand having a Russian doctor.
